SUMMARY:Water-Earth-Fire-Air-Magic: Live Panel Discussion with the Artists
DESCRIPTION:Water-Earth-Fire-Air-Magic: Trans Artist Re-imaginings – This multi-media exhibition brings together art & process works created by Six emerging Trans\, Non-binary and Two-Spirit artists in a winter residency exploring questions & prompts like ’What kinds of magic would we manifest if we centred the healing & creativity of Trans people?” These works are raw\, brave\, vulnerable\, generous & visionary – imagining and embodying what ‘spaces by and for us’ could look and feel like. DESCRIPTION:What makes a place queer? \nWhat does queering a place look like? \nWhere do queers gather & why? \nThe Queering Place multi-disciplinary artist residency will explore these guiding questions through the experiment of designing & building a public outdoor Queer Gathering Place in partnership with The Bentway Toronto. \nWe are seeking applications from Two-spirit\, Queer & Trans* artists with interests or experiences working in fabrication\, woodworking\, earthwork\, public arts\, sound & podcast arts\, visual arts & spatial design. This residency will happen partially online as well as in person\, observing strict Covid safety protocols.
